I want to buy a 5th wheel trailer or an RV to live in. I’ve been browsing craigslist and see that there are various RVs and 5th wheels available for under 10,000 which is my price range.
I don’t have a truck to pull the 5th wheel- so I’d have to buy that too if i got a 5th wheel. Are there signifigant benefits of a 5th wheel over an RV which would make it worth buying a truck?
I currently have a ’91 Toyota Corolla, which I could sell if I needed too.
Wow, some VERY helpful answers.
First, assuming I actually went ahead with this, I think it might be best to buy an RV and pull my Toyota Corolla behind it. That way, if either broke down I wouldn’t be stranded. Also, it sounds like any ‘ol truck won’t pull a 5th wheel trailer- it would be a signifigant additional investment.
Thank you to Elder36 for shedding light on the reality of living in a RV. The RV/trailer seemed like a good solution to the high housing prices here in the San Francisco Bay Area. But as Elder36 said, I’ll have to do my homework.
