I am interested in making some extra income through Google AdSense and ClickBank. I know that I need to have my own website in order to profit from this, but I just need some tips on how to “get the ball rolling.” I would appreciate some feedback from anyone who has some know-how in this area, or anyone who has advertised through AdSense or ClickBank. You’ve probably heard a lot about Google AdSense (which is actually more accurately known as Google AdSense V1), but you may not know just what it is. Well, for one thing, it’s a one of the hottest new ways to make money online without having to do a whole lot. If you’ve read Robert Kiyosaki’s book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” you know that passive income is the best kind of income to have.
Passive income is income that you get without having to work for it. I know this may sound like some kind of “pie in the sky” get-rich-quick scheme, but passive income is for real. In fact, every single billionaire on earth uses the power of passive income to keep money coming in while he or she jets off to parties and resorts and such.
The best example of passive income in the physical world is real estate. When you own an apartment building and hire a property manager and a maintenance crew to take care of it for you and collect the rents, all you have to do is cash the checks that roll in.
Of course, passive income doesn’t just happen overnight, or everyone would be getting it. In the case of the apartment building owner, it took money, time, and knowledge to set up an S corporation, find a building to buy, put up the cash to buy it with and get a loan for the rest, renovate it, then screen and hire the property manager and maintenance crew. But once that was all done, checks began rolling in with little or no effort.
Well, Google Adsense is the online equivalent of that. You’ll have to invest just a little bit of time in learning about it, but once you get it set up you can look forward to seeing those nice checks roll in. Or, if you’re totally online, seeing money flow into your PayPal account.

I am in the US, and am using US Web hosting servers.
I am contemplating renting out the 2nd bedroom in my new home; roommate will share all common space, including kitchen, w/d, living areas. How do I 1) Minimize taxable income? I’d like to avoid raising my AGI: what are the situations, if any, that a roommate is considered a boarder and not a tenant, and in that event, would her monthly “rent” still be taxable? Intuitively I know this must all be considered [taxable] income no matter what legal label you give the roommate but then does this mean every renter on CraigsList who doesn’t report their monthly rent received is committing tax evasion?
2) If this MUST be a l.l/tenant relationship, then what are other tips for maximizing deductions? I know if I rent out a residence in which I also live I am limited in my schedule E deductions to a certain amount. Do my HOA fees become [partially] deductible if and when I’ve converted my primary residence into a rental? What is the best among methods for depreciation? Other expenses?

Google AdSense gives you the opportunity to generate income. I am not sure how it works. In other words, can it be applied to blogs or only websites?

I am full time employed and also have a side business where I had to file a W9 and currently get 28% taken out automatically (google Adsense). When tax time comes, is there a way to not just have a “combined” income for both of my jobs? Can I open up an IRA and contribute from my W9 withholdings only so as to get more money back or are all the moneys always going to be seen as cumulitive for tax purposes. I guess what I’m wondering is if there is any way cut down on the taxes paid.
