Did craigslist get bought out by e-bay?
Did craigslist get bought out by e-bay?
I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE, V6. I am selling it for 11,999 and willing to take close to 11,000 just to get rid of it. That is under the blue book value and its in great shape but NO ONE will even call on it. I put in on e-bay (bid only got to 9,300.00) it has been on Craigslist.org, cars.com, and autotrader.com since April. I have the cheapest price right now in autotrader and yet nothing. I am not trying to sell it for more than its worth that’s for sure so what’s the problem. I have spent so much advertising this car and don’t know what else to do. Is there anymore free sites out there I can sell it to get the word out before my next payment is due again. I canceled the insurance this month so I am afraid to put it in a parking lot to sell incase it gets vandalized.

Besides E-Bay and Craigslist, what are the least complicated
yet best result getting websites you know of?
Hey! Thanks for the great responses to my question. I have looked at car max, cars direct, auto trader, e-bay and craigslist. Most do not have cars that old. I realize that these are old cars but I have sentimental reasons for finding them. Where did they all go?

I have this great website where anyone at present can submit classifieds for free, but it seems that many people have a kind of fear for things that are offered free of charge. How can you take away the visitors doubt if you are not as big as for example e-bay. What can be done to gain trust without spending the same amounts on advertising like e-bay does???
I know google adsense etc., but it has proven to be a waiste of money as most visitors are searching for something. To be successfull with adsense you need the advertisers first. The visitor expect to see adverts on your sites, otherwise he/she will not return. I get lot’s of compliments from visitors for the site, and strangely enough I have quite some hits according to the site stats. That’s why I don’t really understand why anyone just give it a try. Is it really only about traffic???
Maybe someone can provide me usefull and serious information.

I’m a grad student. I want a laptop for word processing, excel spreadsheets, wireless internet, and watching DVD’s. There are lots of discount computer stores in my town selling refurbished units, and there’s craigslist, and of course e-bay… The discount stores offer a limited warranty, but generally wipe the hard-drive so I’d have to spend $$$ for word and excel, but I dunno how trustworthy e-bay and want-ads are – or if I’m likely to find someone offering the software with the computer. Anyhoo, curious what source y’all would recommend (and if you have any recommendations for minimum system features as well – ?GHz, ?size H.D., ?best screen, etc.)…
