I’m heading to LA with my special someone, and was wondering about a ballpark figure on how much I should prepare. I’ve gotten a good rental car deal at $130 for the week. We’re planning to check out Disney, Universal, Magic Mountain, Hollywood, and maybe go around downtown LA or OC. Any ideas? I’m still scouring the net and craigslist for half-off tickets for the theme parks, was wondering how much I’d need for food, accomodations, parking, and other stuff. We probably won’t shop as much though, it’ll be more of a sight-seeing thing, then probably have a nice romantic dinner at the end of the week. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Thanks for input guys! I’m beginning to think that I would have to pick 2 out of the 3 theme parks, and just do some sight-seeing on the other days, which would be slightly less expensive (Hollywood Walk of Fame, OC, Rodeo Drive) Packing the trunk with drinks and snacks could also help, and yes, fast-food will always be an option since its affordable and easy to get. I was thinking of scrimping more on the place to stay in since we’re going to be out wandering most of the day, and a comfy bed and a clean shower would be the only must-haves (cable TV and a pool won’t hurt though). We’ve both been to LA and around it, but this will be our first time to see all these sights together. Sort of like a honeymoon without getting married yet. We’re not uptight, we can live on Snickers, cracker’s, and Coke’s, we just want to spend an awesome time together,it’s a once a year break we do get to focus on us and our relationship. And she needs the break from med school. Thanks for the advice people!
If I was going to Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Disneyland, and Hollywood, would it be better if I trek around, or to just get a hotel/motel that’s going be in the middle of all the 4 spots? I’m thinking I can get a bigger discount if I stay in one place for all 5 nights. And if ever, where is the “center” of these places? Maybe not the exact center, but one that would be 30mins-1 hour from all of these, and would also be economical. Thanks!
