This is more of an opinion question for parents(I know it’s wierd a question to come from an 18yr old) but those parents out their who spy on their kids on MySpace, Do you feel justified spying on them? Do you check their email as well? Do you have reason to justify that? What about their Google searches? What about Instant Messenger conversations?
I just don’t understand why it is that parents feel so compelled to spy on us when they have almost no idea about us. My parents couldn’t tell you my favorite color if you asked them. But I’m curious.
Do you spy on your kids online life? And How do you justify it?
But, Hiking Preacher, all of that exists outside of the parents control. Parents would have to monitor us 100% of the time in order to protect us. And searching a kids MySpace is not attempting to protect them from anything, but merely a parental method of controling the one thing in the protection equation they have control over and that is the kids themselves, which is less protecting them and more just plain distrust.
