I thought that since craigslist is for local things, I could put out a plea. Got flagged and that is just a mess. Anyway, can someone tell me how to find out about services in my area easily?

I already know about craigslist.com…but I’m curious if there are any others out there that have this? Based upon city, of course.

I live in a small city in an apartment. I desperately need to have a yard sale, but have no yard and the sidewalk is not an option.
Do you know of a type of place where one can go to sell goods?
(I mean a physical location. I already know about craigslist and ebay.)
thx
Would like to advertise a service in another country
I’m thinking of moving out of the city, and am not quite clear on the best house-hunting procedures for places without things like daily newspapers, Craigslist, etc, etc.
I have some idea of where I’d like to end up, but it’s a pretty large area; too much to make it reasonable to only drive around and look for signs.
How are apartments/houses in rural areas usually advertised? Should I check with the area’s real estate agents (despite a lack of rental listings on what sites for same I can find)? Would seeing if I could leave a ‘place wanted…please call’ notice in general stores, community centres, etc, be a good idea?
(I’m looking at the Ottawa Valley, just in case anybody reading this is local to me.)
NB: this is in Ontario, Canada.

In a few weeks I’ll be moving for a job that will keep me in the same city for about 1-2 years. Once I find an apartment I’ll have to furnish it; since I’ll be moving again within a few years would it make more sense to rent than to buy furnishings? Should I just browse through Craigslist for a few days to find cheaper furniture? I was wondering what other options are out there…what it comes down to is that I don’t want to have a ton of furniture to move every time I start a new contract.

I am looking for a two bedroom, preferably in the Capitol Hill area. I’ve looked all over Craigslist, Washington Post, and the City Paper. Everything is either too expensive, or the competition is too fierce. Does anyone know of any alternative resources, either newspapers or online, where I could find listings for Capitol Hill? Thanks!

I want to buy something from an online swapping site that operates locally, such as craigslist… What precautions can I use to make sure that the transaction is safe, as far as meeting up with the seller somewhere in the city, etc… Tips please!

Where in the New york city tri state area could I search for free lance artist? I have searched craigslist and found nothing… I need some pictures drawn but I cant draw although I have a vision for what I want. I was considering finding a tattoo artist but I would also need someone with whom I could develop a working relationship with. Any ideas? thanks
