Why do people post comments on sites like myspace, facebook etc..?

When they probably have the people they are commenting to on their msns, or have their phone numbers etc etc…. why should the general public give a fuck what they talk about??? Dont these people get enough attention at home or something like that?

I think that they post information that is pertinent only to a few friends. The correspondence is usually not intended to be interesting or informative to a general audience.

It’s just another medium to post chit chat.
