Hi Hun.
No that is not an in joke. It is a quote from the movie Top Gun, which came out in 1986. You were probably a kid if you were even born then. It’s a movie that is often quoted in a joking fashion (supposedly a lot of the lingo that the fighter pilots use is kinda gay sounding) so you might want to check it out to be in on more jokes.
I’m pretty old and I haven’t seen it yet either so don’t feel bad!
