Is this bad news?

Okay, so I met this girl a couple of times, but I haven’t spoken to her much because both times we were with a group of people. We were at a bar and she told me I should put down more money but then she apologized later. I added her on facebook, and IMed her. From the way she ended the conversation it seemed like she doesn’t want to hang out, but I’m not sure.
….
Me: I’m gonna go to the gym soon and then figure out what I’m doing tonight, what about you?
Her: im actually out of town!
….
Me:ohh, well it’s nice to get out of the city for a few days
Her:yeah def
Me: I might hang out with [our mutual friend] tonight.. I guess I won’t have anyone telling me to put more money down
Her:ahhh im reeally sorry about that!
Her:haha well that should be fun
Me:lol haha no it’s cool
Me:I’m just kidding
Her:ok
Her:good
Me:well I gotta go, but hopefully I’ll see you when you get back!
Her:yepp ok bye

She signed off even quicker than I did.

  1. Next time, let her IM you. If she doesn’t, then you know she’s probably not interested. This is a pretty neutral conversation; if she’s out of town, she may have been visiting someone and was only on IM for a moment or been otherwise occupied.

The Positive Approch (Often wrong) She was busy
The Truth (Hurts alittle less) She wants nothing to do with you sorry buddy

  3. Why don’t you just ask her straight forward. I will never get why people beat around the bush..

  5. Probably not interested. People tend to be more flirty on computer conversations.

My opinion is that you should move on….

she’s what some people call a light switch. sometimes she’s on, sometimes she’s off. even when she’s on, she’s no good. just be friends…don’t try to take it any further. you’ll be convinced that she likes you and then she’ll be quickly turned off again and you’ll get hurt. find someone else.

  10. I would not contact her again, BUT if you see her out you should definitely talk with her and see what signs you get in person. The computer is so impersonal, you just don’t get the real feelings.

  12. I think you’re jumping to conclusions. She may very well be out of town. And as for how she ended the conversation, maybe she was just going somewhere and needed to sign off.
