if you copy someone’s picture from livejournal, facebook, xanga, myspace, etc, can they know someone did that?

some sites use bandwith. not sure exactly how that works but if you download it can they know that someone is downloading their pictures onto the desktop?

  2. Not unless they specifically catch you. Some sites can find out when others link to their pictures by checking for an unusually high number of downloads for a certain picture in the server logs. But as for downloading a picture to the desktop, it would be near impossible to find out unless you actually see the person do it. Also, since you are talking about sites like Facebook, you won’t have access to the server logs anyway.
