A guy sold me a bad ipod on craigslist, and won’t return the money. How can I “motivate” him to give it back?

Preferably not anything crimminal. I know his address, what car he drives, cel phone, myspace and email. He only knows my first an last name, cel phone and email. I would like to inconvenience him to the point where he calls me to give the money back.
the amount in question is $180, and filing in small claims is over $100, so that is pointless…and it takes forever

  6. I would go to a LOT of websites that send out lots and lots of spam and various other types of email and sign him up!! you could also use his cell# to sign up for all kinds of quote requests to burn up his minutes and annoy him to death.

  12. If you a have copy of the ad he placed where he states that it is in good condition, use that against him. When you file your claim, sue not only for the money back, but for fraud, which will net you more than what you came spent on the bad ipod and the filing fee. If you executed the transaction via mail, you are in beter shape. If you picked it up and paid him without testing it, it is buyer beware and you will likely not recover your money. I hope for your sake it was by mail :)

  13. It seems you only have two real options since you don’t want to go to small claims court. (1) You can just continue to call, nag, email, and send letters until he caves in or (2) find him and kick his A** but that will not solve anything either…….(might make you feel better) but won’t solve anything!
