Google Adsense is a program in which websites may place javascript ads upon their site. Each time a vistor clicks upon a Adsense Ad and another site is shown, the webmaster or that website earns a percentage of the ad placement revenue. The adsense Ads are highly targeted toward the keyword density of your website. If your site is about Cars, addtional car advertisment will be placed upon your site via the javascript code. Adsense is a fantastic program to earn passive income from your website or sites.

AdSense is going to be much more profitable for you if you already have a website that has genuine content that people are actually interested in. Content is king. Putting AdSense on a website that has scraped content from somewhere else may end up earning you some money, but you will not realize the full potential until you put it on an authority site about a topic.
It is, however, a great way to earn money. The part that many people fail to realize, however, is that you need to have traffic in order to earn that money. If you just throw AdSense up on a website that you put up last night for the sole purpose of putting ads on it, you’re not going to be pulling any traffic. A new site like this is likely not going to be showing up in the SERPS at Google or Yahoo for some time, and without the engine from the search engines you will be required to rely upon word of mouth and link exchange for traffic.
Also, if you do decide to put AdSense on your website, be sure to be very careful to not click your own ads. Many people think they are going to be able to “scam” Google out of some money by going to their own website and clicking on their ads repeatedly. Fortunately, for the advertisers sake, Google is good at catching these people that are trying to make some easy money. If you are caught doing this, your account will most likely be terminated and you will lose any accumulated balance.
It’s a very good way to earn large amounts of money off of relatively small work as long as you are already drawing traffic to your sites, but just be sure to be smart about it.
