You're going to deal with this person in a detail-oriented endeavor. You main concerns are if the person has a positive attitude, is not arrogant, is honest and professional. A negative attitude will stall your project. An arrogant attitude will make it very unpleasant. A dishonest person will re-sell your code. In general, if you're doing a Microsoft solution, don't hire a Linux person, and viceversa. Don't hire someone you can't meet in person. Find a programmer through friends, and friends of friends. But it is nice to hear that you are excited about your business idea. I am a website programmer/application developer and would be interested in knowing more about it. There are many ways to get programmer by visiting sites like rentacoder etc. But it is better if you ask some person you already know, to work with you.
