I don't think you generate much from adsense unless someone clicks on the ads that show up on your blog. Ideally, the ads are related to something on your blog so if people are reading you out of interest they would also be interested in clicking those ads… doesn't always happen though …

You NEED MASSIVE TRAFFIC on the order of 1000 unique visitors a day, until you start getting serious traffic you will not generate much in Adsense revenue.. work on building your blog to get this volume of traffic, then the clicks will come!
Because you have no control over the ads Google serves on your site you need to focus on eyeballs.
