for some odd reason, i see one of my friends get a new friend atleast everyday… how is that… I dont think people are adding her on, on an accident or found her, and she just got her facebook 3 weeks ago and has 170 friends… i dont get it… and i have had mine for about a year and i only have 33…
My guess or well… opinion is that she probably adding everyone from the “People You May Know” tool. That shows up to 25 people you may know (3 or 4 at a time on your homepage).
Maybe she does know all those people. Could be friends from elementary or middle school.
She could be meeting new people, especially in college. A lot of people’s friend count shoot up during college because you meet a lot of people during college.
Maybe she’s trying to become one of those girls who “knows” everybody.
I have 861 friends and about the majority of them are just fans from when I was on sports teams in high school. I seriously know a good 50 of those people.
Again, like someone said… it is good to have those good 33 friends than the 170 “friends”.
Bottom line, don’t sweat it. It’s just a number. Not something to become jealous of. Chill.

It could be that there are some people that she knows that you may not know, who are finding her and adding her. It could be that she is meeting complete strangers on facebook. But don’t worry, there is nothing wrong with the number of friends you have. Alot of people get really taken up about this concept but it really doesn’t matter at all. If somebody thinks you are a loser because you only have 33 friends, that’s really childish and they need to grow up. It’s not about the number of people, but the people themselves.
